Rural school renovations in Sri Lanka

At a Glance:
Many schools in Sri Lanka’s rural villages have little or no basic facilities. Classrooms are often lacking or in disrepair, and toilet facilities are inadequate or broken. Unfortunately there is usually no support given by the authorities and these schools are attended by children that come from families with a lower income, so parents are limited in the ways they can help. Families here dream of giving their children a better education, so KHIRI CAMPUS is facilitating these community-driven projects.
For these service learning projects, students will travel to lesser-known parts of Sri Lanka and help with the building and renovating of classrooms and toilets in rural public schools. Students will stay at the heart of the community, meaning that they are immersed in local life and can take part in authentic cultural exchange.
