Our Health and Social Care programs enable students to observe and participate in medical practices under supervision of faculty and local healthcare professionals.
Working closely with our host communities and university faculty, we develop educational travel programs for students studying:
- Oral health and dentistry
- Primary healthcare, nursing, paramedicine and midwifery
- Public health
- Physical therapy, occupational therapy and rehabilitation
- Speech and language therapy
- Biomedical sciences
Experiences in limited-resource environments help highlight the creative solutions that local practitioners must come up with to address challenges in local healthcare systems. This allows for a more educated idea about some of the health inequalities that exist around the world, whilst highlighting the importance of innovation in finding local creative solutions to local problems. Students can also expect to improve communication skills, which is critical for a career in health and social care.
