Satellite School Renovation in Northern Vietnam

At a Glance:

This KHIRI CAMPUS program in Northern Vietnam invites students to Lang Son Village, northwest of Hanoi, to take part in a school renovation project. The village school is three small classrooms constructed of bamboo with a mud floor. The project will significantly improve the school and students can contribute by making mud bricks and a concrete floor to keep the school from flooding when it rains.

Its friendly people and beautiful landscapes make Lang Son an excellent destination for your service learning journey! Students will have a unique opportunity to develop self-confidence in leadership, collaboration and cooperation. You can also discern your aptitude for learning new languages and other non-academic life skills.

Learning Outcomes :

Experience the life in rural Vietnamese community and enjoy the ‘back-to-nature’ lifestyle: tending the rice paddies, harvesting vegetables, collecting firewood, or fishing
Understand the challenges of rural communities and what solutions they need
