We spent a lot of time in the community and had the opportunity to meet a lot of people. Through this, we learned a lot about culture and religion in Indonesia, specifically the impact of culture and religion on health. This has developed my cultural understanding and I intend to integrate this into my practice back at home as I continue my studies.
Working with GROUND was easy from start to finish! Planning was great – we had specific learning goals in mind and the team made a program that we couldn’t have even dreamed up ourselves! We’ve seen things that we would not have had the opportunity to see in our country and we’ve seen different ways to address a situation that we would not normally use. This has helped me develop my skills in thinking on my feet and it’s a great learning experience for me because at home we tend to learn one way of doing things.
