Work together to support the community residents of one of the regions in Yogyakarta to achieve better standards of living

At a Glance:

Travel to a small community located in the Indonesian province of Yogyakarta, about an hour from the city center. Though located on the rich soil area of Menoreh Hills, most of the villagers work as farmers and are experiencing economic difficulties. Their income is barely enough for daily needs. Thus, they find it difficult to make a decent livelihood or renovate their homes.

Join a community development project to renovate some of the village’s housing, assisting the locals with activities such as replacing walls, repairing roofs, or building floors.

Learning Outcomes :

Experience living in a mountainous area of Indonesia, home to a rural community and learn about the local socio-economic condition
Learn about local community culture and their way of living side by side with nature
Identify the challenges of rural communities, both from internal and external, and what solutions are needed for better development
Contribute towards building community infrastructure to provide a more adequate living environment
