KHIRI CAMPUS Business Program in Bali invites students to see how the development of creative business can improve people’s welfare while preserving local culture. As one of the world’s largest tourist destinations, Bali is visited by millions of tourists every year. However, economic growth is only concentrated in the south so that socio-economic disparities still occur. As a result, social businesses have begun to develop in the rural areas of Bali in an attempt to close the economic gap.
Through this program, KHIRI CAMPUS will let students learn from a social business that develops local potential and empower local communities in East Bali so they do not leave their villages to work in southern Bali. Students will understand the struggles and challenges of building a business through direct interaction with practitioners and the local community. Students will also conduct site visits where they will be challenged to think critically and provide solutions, ideas, or questions that can help the development of the social business.
