At a glance:
This program invites students to apply their knowledge and training in exercise science to help develop projects in three different settings. The broad diversity of Indonesia’s workplaces and sports clubs, in terms of working style, health conditions and people’s health awareness, make this program particularly interesting for any students looking to enrich their knowledge and carry out their own research projects.
As part of this program, students will get the opportunity to carry out full health assessments and evaluations within a variety of workplaces – from workplaces that require employees to spend many hours in front of the computer, to those whose employees undergo physical activity everyday as part of their job. They will also conduct a performance assessment and possible coaching sessions at a local sports club and can participate in laboratory activities within local health institutions.
Communities and Project Impact:
This project takes place in the Indonesian city of Yogyakarta. Students will visit three different projects – two different workplaces where employees undertake varying levels of physical activity in the working day, and a local sports club.
This program is of great importance to the local communities as it gives the local working and sports communities access to specialised assessments and exercise plans to help their performance at work, and their quality of life overall.
