KHIRI CAMPUS’s Midwifery program invites students to observe the varied midwifery practices in Indonesia, starting from traditional birth attendants, called shaman, independent midwives, and maternal and child health services in clinics and hospitals. Students are invited to explore each location, discuss with health staff there, and interact directly with patients whenever possible.
The program additionally provides integrated knowledge about maternal and child health through community outreach activities. Students will get the chance to identify the challenges that exist in the community through field visits. Moreover, this program allows students to collaborate with local health staff to provide counselling and training for mothers and prospective mothers in the community to improve health quality.
