At a Glance:

This program invites students to observe the current situation in Cambodia but provides an overview of Cambodia from the past to the present.

Students will see historical relics from the past that reveal the glory of this kingdom by visits to temples. Moreover, they will explore the recent history and understand the challenges in society at that time. The program also invites students to interact with local communities to make them understand how history forms the present society and how society continues to develop culture.

Learning Outcomes :

Experience rural Cambodian life on a bicycle ride to Silk Island, observing traditional silk weaving along the way
Explore Phnom Penh’s art deco and French colonial architecture
Visit the Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields memorial park
Learn about a local NGO that provides education and training to children from a slum community
Visit pre-Angkor era temple complexes, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and Ta Phrom
Tour around Tonle Sap lake on a local boat
