Have you realized that Thailand’s Royal Family has a flag, symbol and colour that represents each one individually? There is also a strict way to place the royal flags when put up with the Thai flag, for example, we must put the Thai flag at the right side and royal flag at the left side, when displayed in the front of the house for showing homage or special events or birthday anniversary.
Here’s all you need to know about the royal flags, colours and symbols for each member of the Thai Royal Family:
Rama 10 – King Maha Vajiralongkorn flag is in yellow because he was born on Monday and in the middle has his acronym in white, yellow and blue colour (Thai alphabet ว.ป.ร.). Also Thai number 10.
Queen in rama 9 – Queen Sirikit flag is in blue because she was born on Friday and in the middle has her acronym in dark blue and white colour (Thai alphabet ส.ก.).
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn flag is in purple because she was born on Saturday and in the middle has her acronym in dark purple and white colour (Thai alphabet ส.ธ.).
Princess Chulabhorn Walailak flag is in orange because she was born on Thursday and in the middle has her acronym in orange and white colour (Thai alphabet จ.ภ.).
Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya flag is in red and in the middle has her acronym in red and white colour (Thai alphabet อ.ร.).
Princess Soamsawali flag is in purple because she was born on Saturday and in the middle has her acronym in dark purple and white colour (Thai alphabet ส.ล.).
Princess Bajrakitiyabha flag is in orange because she was born on Thursday and in the middle has her acronym in orange and yellow colour (Thai alphabet พ.ภ.).
Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana flag is in orange because she was born on Thursday and in the middle has her acronym in orange and yellow colour (Thai alphabet ส.ร.).
Prince Dipangkorn flag is in blue because he was born on friday and in the middle has his acronym in light blue and yellow colour (Thai alphabet ท.ป.).
