When planning an educational travel program in Thailand, the first thing to consider is you how long you want to spend time in Thailand. Thai visas are extremely easy to get. The visa exemption rule allows tourists from 55 countries to enter Thailand without a visa for a maximum 30 days. Plus GROUND Asia’s team on the ground in Thailand is on hand to help you through every step of the application process.

  1. Passports
Make sure your and your students’ passports are valid for a minimum of six months before you plan to leave your own country. While travelling with in Thailand, it is important that you carry around a copy of your passport with you at all times.
  2. Where to Get Your Thai Visa
There are three main international airports in Thailand: Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok), Chiang Mai International Airport, and Phuket International Airport. There will be no problems getting a visa exempt stamp at any of these three airports.
  3. Obtaining Your Visa
On arrival, simply head to the immigration counter and wait in the queue. The immigration officer will check your traveling documents then stamp your passport. Should you wish to apply for a 60-day Tourist Visa, you will need to apply for this in your home country through the Thai embassy or consulate located there. This is 60-day Tourist Visa can either be a multiple or single entry and can be extended for up to another 30 days at any immigration office in Thailand.

Documents required for your 60-Day Tourist Visa:

    • Passport or travel document with a validity not less than 6 months
    • Visa application form (filled out)
    • 1 recent 4×6 cm. photograph of the applicant
    • Round-trip air ticket or e-ticket (paid in full)
    • Proof of financial means (20,000 baht per person/ 40,000 baht per family)
    • Visa fee: USD 30 per entry or equivalent
